More than once, the medical institute has invited all those who are thirsty for knowledge and scientific research to its walls for the Open Doors Day. This sunny Saturday morning was no exception. Teachers and students of morphology department warmly welcomed the guests of the medical institute in their classrooms. All those willing visited the interesting expositions of the museum of human anatomy, where they saw the peculiarities of the structure of the human body. In addition to the rich collection of museum exhibits, modern teaching technology for medical students was presented – virtual anatomical tables with touch screens, where the most hidden structures and features of the structure of organs and systems of the human body are easily visualized with the help of software.
In the classrooms of the clinical anatomy course, the main stages of some surgical interventions and operational manipulations were simulated and demonstrated on real organs and the physical body.
In the department’s surgical unit, leading specialists with many years of experience demonstrated to visitors the possibilities of endoscopic operations on models of various parts of the body.
The guests of the institute and the audience of the histology course were not missed. This science studies the structure of tissues of living organisms and is an important branch of medicine, which is extremely necessary in particular for preoperative diagnostics and postoperative monitoring. All those willing were able to immerse themselves in the world of tissues and cells with the help of modern light microscopes with digital photodetection.
At all locations of the event, visitors had unique opportunities to directly participate in the performance of demonstration manipulations, and therefore for a while to feel like a real practicing doctors and researchers.
In free communication with the teachers of the department and students who provided professional support for the event, the visitors willingly shared their impressions, offered interesting topics for discussion, and expressed their suggestions.
