Lectures by Professor of the University of Cambridge, Dr. Robert H. Whitaker

On February 20, 2025, a new series of lectures by Professor of the University of Cambridge, Dr. Robert H. Whitaker, began for students of Medical Institute of Sumy State University.

The first lecture of the series was devoted to the anatomy of the inguinal canal and perineum. Dr. R. H. Whitaker described in detail the anatomy and pathomorphology of the groin and perineum, emphasizing their morphological features, blood supplying and innervation. Particular attention was paid to practical aspects, during the discussion of which the clinical significance of knowledge of the structure and functions of the structures that form the corresponding regions of the body was demonstrated.

The lecture was presented in an interesting and accessible form. Explanations were accompanied by the demonstration of high-quality illustrations, which greatly facilitated the perception of complex information. The interactive component of the lecture contributed to free interaction, discussion and exchange of views, which determined better assimilation of the material and significantly increased interest and motivation for a deeper study of Human Anatomy.
